Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect in our first session?
In our first session together, we will meet in my waiting room where I will provide you with an intake form, privacy documentation and take payment for the session (if not already completed). From there we will go into the therapy room, where we will get comfortable and I will ask some questions to start to get to know you and you can also ask me any questions you may have. When you are feeling comfortable to start talking about what has brought you to counselling then we will start to explore this together. Often the first session will be gaining an understanding of your situation and then following sessions will be more treatment based.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies greatly and depends on what issues are raised; this will be discussed in your first session.
How do I make an appointment?
You can book online through Halaxy by following this link: Make a Booking, send through an email to charlene@evotherapy.com.au
or call on 0474 519 347 to arrange a time.
How much does it cost and how do I pay for it?
Each 1-hour session is $150. This can be paid for by card, electronic transfer or cash.
I prefer payment to be made before your session so that we can focus on you during our time together.
How do I reschedule or cancel an appointment?
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. You can call me on 0474 519 347, if I am unable to take your call at the time, please leave a voice message. Otherwise please send an email to charlene@evotherapy.com.au.
Please note that a cancellation within 24hrs of your appointment time will incur a fee of $75, which is 50% of the total session fee.
Do I need a mental health care plan from my GP?
No, you will not need a mental health care plan from your GP.
Will my health insurance cover the cost of my sessions?

The discussions we have are private and confidential. This gives you the safe space to speak openly and honestly about any issues that you may be experiencing. I will take some short notes during our sessions together, these notes (along with your intake forms) will be kept securely in my locked filing cabinet. The notes are to help me keep track of our progress together.
There are a few circumstances in which I may be required to break confidentiality:
If I consider you to be at risk of seriously harming yourself or someone else
If your counselling records have been requested by a court of law
If another party or agency has requested your information, and you have agreed and provided your written consent to this.
